Regional 16th October @ Peterborough
The last Regional qualifer of 2011. Victory in the U15 boys grade E went to Andrew Stamp aged 9, he new holds the club record for highest overall score. Tim Arthur O15 boys grade F mastered his routines to move up a grade for next season and finished 2nd. Louisa Shellard claimed 6th, and Charlotte Ellis 7th in the U13 girls grade G against tough opposition. Lottie Edwards and Jess Cook fell behind after mistakes in their first round attempts. Both found good form in the second round; this will give them confidence for the first 2012 qualifier at Market Harborough leisure centre on 22nd January.

Regional 15th May @ Wisbech
In the U13 girls G grade: Louisa Shellard 7th; Lottie Edwards 11th. Over 13 boys E grade: Andrew Stamp 7th. This competition we definitely under performed, but it was good preparation for October.

Regional Comp, Derby Sun 6/3/2011
Well done to Lewis, Sammie, and Andrew who qualified for grade F. Good work for Jess Cook who nearly qualified with personal best performance. Lottie Edwards got the experience she needed with her new routine. Charlotte Ellis had a wobble in her first round but pulled back strong in round 2.

Regional Comp, Wisbech October 10th 2010
Sammie Freestone won her age group with 46.00 and qualified for grade F, Tim Arthur achieved the highest club score for a regional competition ever 47.40 to win the group and qualify for grade F. Oliver Scott narrowly missed out on the qualifying score now for a third time. It was a shame two of the judges missed the magic. Lottie Edwards qualified for grade F and finished in 2nd position. Charlotte Ellis was 1.2 marks away from qualification and now looks like she has the experience to do well next year; Louisa Shellard was 2.3 marks away from qualification but still managed 7th position , Evie Freestone was 1.3 away from qualification so must also work hard to improve her routines for next season. Andrew Stamp is the first member of the club to compete at grade F, and although he forgot to do the correct set routine, by completing his voluntary routine twice (unfortunately the ‘set’ score didn’t count). He still did two complete routines very well. Next time I’m sure he will remember to do the correct routine first! Thanks to everyone that helped make it a great day.

County multi-discipline. October 17th 2010 New College, Leicester. Congratulations to Sammie Freestone, Rebecca Rawlins, Oliver Scott, and Mark Harper who represented the County against Derby & Notts. The team finished third, but all the teams finished with very close scores.

11/10/09 @ Hudson L.C, Wisbech

MHGC had a successful day. Gymnasts competing at grade G - Andrew Stamp (U11B) came 2nd in his group and achieved the qualifying score to move up a grade, despite it being his first attempt at this level! Rebecca Rawlins (U15G) 11th; Carrie Barrett 17th; and Oliver Scott (O15B) came second overall but narrowly missing the qualification score!

Gymnasts competing at grade H were: Annie Napier (U15G) 2nd. In the U11 girls group Charlotte Ellis 7th; Louisa Shellard 9th; Lottie Edwards 11th the three girls finished first in the team competition. Gymnasts at the club are now working towards the next regional competition at Grimsby in January.

Sunday 24th May 2009 - Aero Kinetics, Peterborough
What a great day for everyone! The morning session started with the U15G (G); Rebecca Rawlins (18th) made the first performance for the girls team with a steady start. Her second routine travelled along the trampoline a bit, it looked as though she might not complete it. Obviously with her experience she pulled through to complete all ten skills. Sammie Freestone (6th) was second up to compete for the team and although she had learnt her voluntary routine the day before the competition, managed to score a better score with it than her compulsory routine. A final score of 43.90 was encouraging! Carrie Barrett (20th) was the third and final to compete for the team; it is her first year competing at this level and she performed two routines of ten skills with no end of routine deductions taken off - a positive start for Carrie. The team finished 3rd overall. Meanwhile, Andrew Stamp (1st) U11B (H) blew away his competition, he must now move up a category. U11G (H) shared equivalent success in their group. Lottie Edwards (5th) was first up, she finished with score of 41.90 and second to compete Evie Freestone (2nd) 42.50. The scores indicate the top seven were extremely close! There was only one Oliver Scott O15B (G) to compete in the afternoon session, he finished 2nd with a score of 42.70. I thought everyone held it together well, the only thing is that I have seen everyone do better performances on Friday night's training! Just imagine what your score would have been if you had performed your very best routine?

Well done to Oliver Scott (3rd) & Tim Arthur (4th) in the U15B Regional G competition @ Long Eaton on Sunday 26th October 2008. They both came close to the qualifying score for the next grade above on their first attempt in this category!

Schools

Regional Schools 4th Dec @ Spalding
Lottie Edwards (48.70) 1st & Charlotte Ellis (44.20) 5th in the U11 girls. Kaley Demarco (49.60) claimed the individual gold in the U19 Girls group. Evie Freestone (46.60) 5th & Louisa Shellard (43.80) 11th in the U13 Girls. Jess Cook (46.10) 8th in the U11 girls novice. Jess performed two strong routines, in what I considered to be the toughest group of the day. Iquan Silcott (35.70) 4th U15 boys - an error in his first round attempt, an excellent second round performance! Well done everyone.
